About Us

An aircraft maintenance company has been operating at Omaka airfield for many years, previously under the names of Reg Taylor Aero Maintenance, and more recently Aeromotive (Blenheim) Ltd.

In July 2007 Sounds Aero Maintenance purchased the Blenheim branch of Aeromotive Ltd. We gained our own NZ CAA Part 145 certificate in April 2008, and began operations from our new purpose built facility in June 2008.

The company has two equal shareholders - Sounds Air Travel and Tourism Ltd, and Craig Anderson, who also holds the position of Managing Director.

Directors

Craig Anderson
Craig was an avionic engineer with Air NZ (Christchurch) for 15 years, where he held the positions of Avionic Engineer (eight years), Avionic Lead Hand (three years), Production
Planner (one year), and Technical/Computer Instructor (three years).  Since then he has held the positions of Base Engineer for Eagle Airways in Blenheim, and more recently Maintenance Controller for Vincent Aviation (both NZ and Australia) and SoundsAir.

Craig is a keen aviation enthusiast, and has flown the Beech 1900 for Vincent Aviation, and currently flies the C208 Caravan for Sounds Air part time. He also holds "C" and "D" Category Flight Instructor ratings.

Andrew Crawford
Andrew is Sounds Air's Managing Director, and has a wealth of practical business experience ranging from farming, to mechanical engineering and sales, and more recently aviation.

During his time as Managing Director of Sounds Air, many significant changes have been made that now see Sounds Air as a successful, well known and well respected commuter airline.
